FBC offers Parent/Child Dedication once a year. Parent/Child dedication occurs on Mother's Day. Prior to participating in the Parent/Child dedication ceremony parent's are urged to attend a Parent/Child Dedication orientation. The orientation will take place the week before the dedication during the Bible Study hour.

Parent/Child Dedication is an opportunity for parents to present their child to their community of faith, publicly promising to raise him or her in a Christian home and to teach them what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. In addition, the congregation covenants with the parents to share in the responsibilities of nurturing and teaching the children and helping them to grow in their faith.

Participants need not be church members. Those wishing to participate should be able to answer, "yes" to the following four questions:

  • Do you acknowledge your child as a gift from God?
  • Do you commit yourself to live a godly life before your child so that he or she will have an example to follow?
  • Do you commit yourself to give your child opportunity to hear the gospel so that he or she might be able to have a personal relationship with Christ?
  • Do you commit yourself to raise your child in the instruction and discipline of the Lord?
