Mike has been in ministry since 1994. He graduated in 1996, from the University of Houston, with a Bachelor of Arts’ in Speech Communications and minored in Psychology. He then continued his studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where in 2002, he earned his Master of Divinity.
He and his wife, Heather, are the proud parents of three children: Courtney, Kyle, and Connor. Heather and Mike have served as Pastor of Student Ministries at Faith Community Church in Houston, Fannin Terrace Baptist Church in Midland, Southside Baptist Church in Palestine, First Baptist Church of The Woodlands in The Woodlands. He has also served as Senior Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Tyler. In his free time, you’ll find Mike coaching one of his kids’ sports teams, playing sports, watching sports, or hanging out with the family.
Mike grew up in a Christian home. His father was a charter member and deacon at Westbury Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. At the age of 10 he came to know Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized by Dr. Milton Cunningham. During his senior year in high school God began to reveal to him a taste for seeing people come to know Him. It was during a revival at Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Sugar Land, Texas that God called Mike to vocational ministry. The invitation was given and he watched as several people whom he had personally invested in gave their lives to Christ. It was then that Mike felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit telling him there was no greater calling in life than to see people come to know Him. It is out of this passionate conviction, that only Christ can change lives, Mike lives out the calling God has placed upon his life.
Daniel joined the FBC team in April 2019. As associate pastor, Daniel’s primary role is overseeing the discipleship ministry of the church. This means he has the pleasure of directing the content, resources, and leadership of all of our small groups and discipleship classes. In addition, he also has the opportunity of being the staff liaison for most of the committees in our church. Daniel loves his responsibilities, all the people he gets to work with on a regular basis, and the amazing church family here at First Granbury.
Daniel grew up in the church, was raised to love the Lord, and has been a believer in Christ for as long as he can remember. After high school, he felt the call to ministry and decided to pursue and earn a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry from LeTourneau University. After he moved to Waco to attend seminary, it was at a college retreat weekend that he met the love of his life, Anna. They were married in December 2015. Daniel and Anna lived in Waco while Daniel completed his Master of Divinity from Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary and pastored a small congregation outside of Waco.
Daniel loves to laugh, travel, and eat good food (especially homemade pizza). He is most in his element when studying Scripture or old, dead preachers like Charles Haddon Spurgeon. He is at his happiest when spending time with family and friends or watching sports, preferably both at the same time. His favorite teams include the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and, most of all, Texas A&M Aggies.

She describes herself as a recovering perfectionist, a crime documentary binge-watcher, a lover of ALL thing vintage and pretty, a coke zero addict, and an unapologetic foodie.
